Shanghai stocks fell yesterday, led by industrial, technology and materials shares.

The Shanghai Composite Index lost 0.15 percent to 3,212.99 points.

Shares of iron and steel and non-ferrous metal producers declined.

Jiangxi Copper Co fell 5.21 percent to 20.37 yuan (US$2.97), Liuzhou Iron And Steel Co lost 4.45 percent to 5.15 yuan and Gansu Jiu Steel Group Hongxing Iron & Steel Co shed 4.72 percent to 3.43 yuan.

These shares fell in tandem with the fall in the price indexes of steel products by 0.56 percent last month and non-ferrous metals by 0.59 percent.
